Remark Classic OMR includes a full-featured, easy-to-use, and very powerful grading functionality providing educators a clear view the student, class, test, and item performance on the test.

Test Grading Features of Remark Classic OMR

Remark Classic OMR includes Remark Quick Stats®, a built-in analysis and reporting package that is used to grade tests. With the click of a button, the software provides many standard test grading reports. Reports are customizable in terms of information displayed, colors, fonts and graphics. All reports can be exported to various formats, including PDF, and emailed in order to get information into your constituents’ hands quickly and efficiently.

Test Grading Features

  • Answer key can be scanned in or use Remark’s interface to enter it manually.
  • Test answer key is always available and can be modified as desired to throw out questions, change correct answers, curve a test, set points per question, enable partial credit for a question, define benchmarks, set up learning objectives, and much more.
  • You never have to rescan your tests to regrade! Simply modify your key and regrade. Do it as many times as you want. Save answer keys for future use.
  • Grade multiple versions of a test with multiple answers keys.
  • Supports rubric style questions.
  • Scaled Scores. The Advanced Grade tool supports “scaling” a score, whereby you look up grades in an external table (based on total score, percent score or percentile) and then apply the scaled score from the external file. Provides for customizable grading.
  • Reports are available to compare achievement across various demographic groups of students.

    • For each item Remark Quick Stats calculates: Mean, Variance, Standard Deviation, Standard Error, Min, Max, Range, Median, Skewness, Kurtosis, T-Value, Percentiles, Confidence Intervals, P-values, Point Biserial Correlation.
    • For each answer choice Remark Quick Stats calculates: Frequencies, Percentages, Point Biserial.
    • For each student Remark Quick Stats calculates: Total score, Raw score, Grade, Dev. IQ, Number correct, incorrect, unanswered.
    • For the test Remark Office OMR calculates: Number of graded tests and items, Max, Min, Median, Range, Percentile scores, Mean, Variance, Standard Deviation, Confidence Intervals (1,5,95,99%), KR 20, KR21, Coefficient (Cronbach) Alpha.

Test Grading Reports

The reports produced in Remark Quick Stats range from class summaries showing detailed student and question achievement to item analysis to show question performance to individualized student grade reports. Please use the list of reports below to see the reports included in Remark Quick Stats.

Class and Student Reports

  • Class Frequency Distribution Report Provides a distribution of the grades for an entire class and test. This report is useful for gaining a quick grasp on class performance.
  • Class Learning Objectives Displays information about the performance of the class on the entire test and on each learning objective. This report is helpful to view the class’s progress towards mastering standards specified in the learning objectives.
  • Comparative Grade Report Compares performance for groups of students. This report is particularly effective for reporting on how subgroups of students are making adequate yearly progress.
  • Demographic Grade Report Compares performance for groups of students. This report is particularly effective for reporting on all subgroups of students to ensure they are making adequate yearly progress.
  • Student Grade Report The Student Grade Report provides a detailed grade report for each student included in the grade operation. You may print these reports and give them to your students, parents or other stakeholders.
  • Student Achievement Report Compares each student’s performance on the whole test and on each learning objective to the corresponding benchmark value. This report allows you to quickly see which students are meeting standards and which students might be falling behind.
  • Student Response Report Provides a graphical view of each student on the test and each question on the test in a matrix style. This report allows you to quickly see performance on both a student and question level.
  • Student Response Similarities Report Compares each student’s test to every other student’s test and determines how similar they are to each other. This report is useful when attempting to identify students that may be cheating.
  • Student Statistics Report Used to view class performance for tests. Optionally shows detailed information about learning objectives, objective questions, and subjective questions. Great report for quickly seeing how students are performing and whether they are meeting standards.
  • Test Analysis Report Provides summary information about the test. It is useful for a quick view of overall performance along with any anomalies of which you should be aware.

Item Analysis Reports

  • Condensed Item Analysis Report Provides answer choice frequency information on a question-by-question basis, which is useful for question validity. Displays a condensed graph of answers chosen for each question.
  • Condensed Test Report Provides answer choice frequency information on a question by question basis, including distractor and class score information. Reports the item analysis in a condensed, textual format.
  • Detailed Item Analysis Report Provides answer choice frequency information on a question-by-question basis, which for test grading is useful for question validity. Item analysis is displayed along with large graphs of choices for each question.
  • Item Analysis Graph Report Provides answer choice frequency information on a question-by-question basis, which for test grading is useful for question validity. Provides a small graph of results from each question.

Test and Item Analysis Reports

  • Comparative Item Report Compares performance for different groups of students on each question. This report is particularly helpful to determine which students may be struggling with a certain question.
  • Test Item Statistics Report Displays basic statistical information for each question. This report allows you to quickly see which questions were answered correctly or incorrectly. It also includes information on question reliability.
  • Test Statistics Report Provides basic statistics on the test as a whole and is useful for gaining a quick look at performance and basic statistical analysis.
