Remark Office OMR and Remark Classic OMR require the Microsoft Access Database Engine in order to use the newer Microsoft Access ACCDB and Microsoft Excel XLSX file formats (from 2007 upwards). Without the Microsoft Access Database Engine, Remark users only have access to the older Microsoft Access MDB and Microsoft Excel XLS file formats.
There are several versions of the Microsoft Access Database Engine available for download. Determining which one you need depends on your Remark software, which version of Microsoft Office you are using, and your Remark computer specifications.
